Vienna Marathon 2015
The Vienna City Marathon will take place again in the middle of April in 2015 which is considered one of the best races in Europe.
Vienna is the capital and also the largest city of Austria. Vienna is the most important cultural, economic and political city of Austria and it also gives home to several organisations and events through the whole year. Every year the city offers the best programs, activities such as concerts, markets and marathons. This year in April the annual Vienna City Marathon will be back in town again. The Vienna Marathon leads through the most beautiful historical and cultural attractions in the city.
The route of the marathon starts at the new and modern part of the city right at the United Nations Building then the runners cross the Reichsbrucke bride and the famous river Danube. The race then continues in the historical city passing the most beautiful spots in the city including the City Park, Vienna State Opera, the Green Market, Vienna Theatre, Museum of Technology, the Parliament, Votiv Church, Lusthaus and several other spots in the city until the route finally ends at Heldenplatz. This year the Vienna City Marathon will be held on 12th April and the race will start at 9 in the morning. The registration to the marathon costs € 65 and the registration deadline is on 27th March.

Opera Ball in Vienna 2015
The annual Opera Ball in Vienna will be held again in the middle of February in 2015. The Opera Ball is one of the most popular and known events in Vienna which is held each year in the building of the Vienna State Opera.
If you want to experience something unique then you must visit the Opera Ball in Vienna. The Opera Ball is one of the highlights of the carnival season along side with the New Year Concert. The dress code for the ball is evening dress which means white tie and tails for men and full length/ floor length ballgowns for women. The ball is dating back for long, the first Opera Ball in Vienna was held in 1936 but it was suspended during the World War II but after the war it has been annually held.
The Opera Ball attracts many people from all over the world and even some of the famous people has attended the event such as Sophia Loren, Carmen Electra, Geri Halliwell, Pamela Anderson and Paris Hilton. The Opera Ball will take place in Vienna, Austria on Thursday 12th February in 2015 from 9 in the evening. Tickets for the ball are already available.

Which are the top events in Vienna in 2015? In this article we will list some of the most interesting and exciting programs in the life of the city during 2015.
Vienna is the capital city of Austria and it is one of the most visited and popular cities in Europe. In 2015 just like in the other years Vienna will host some of the best activities and programs such as the various cultural, music, film, photography and different culinary events as well. The Vienna Opera Ball will be the first festival held in Vienna in 2015.
The Opera Ball will be held from 12th February and it will take place at the wonderful State Opera House in Vienna. Another two awaited festivals in Vienna are the Vienna Jazz Festival which takes place from June until July the exact dates are not confirmed yet and the Vienna Music and Film Festival which will be held from July to August. The Music and Film Festival takes place at the square front of Vienna’s City Hall and it is used as a giant open air cinema. Apart from the festivals Vienna gives home to some of the most popular singers and bands concerts as well.
In 2015 Milky Chance, Katy Perry, Usher, Sting, Charlie Winston, One Direction, Roxette, Nickelback and many others will be on stage in Vienna through the year. Every year when the weather cools down and Christmas is just around the corner the various Christmas markets appears at the different spots of the city.
In 2015 the dates of the Christmas markets are not confirmed yet but the markets open their gates usually in the last weeks of November and they are open until the end of December or the beginning of January.

Schönbrunn Christmas Market 2014
In Vienna the Christmas Market will open its gates in 2014 again to the visitors. The Christmas Market Schloß Schönbrunn attracts around 1 million people every year from all over the world to come to Austria during the Advent period and get in the Christmas mood.
Each year the market’s popularity just grows and it became one of the most popular one in Europe. This year the Christmas Market will be held from the last weeks of November. At the Christmas Market visitors will have the chance to enjoy the handicraft markets and the best quality hot wines and Austrian foods as well. More than 80 exhibitors from Austria and other neighbor countries will present their traditional handicrafts and foods such as the Christmas decorations and the best hot wines, beers, sausages and several other specialties.
The Schloß Schönbrunn market gives a really special and unique Christmas atmosphere with its unusual setting and the great variety of handicrafts. The Christmas Market will take place at Schloß Schönbrunn in Vienna from 22nd of November until 26th December 2014. After the Christmas holiday from 27th December 2014. until 1st January 2015 there will be jazz concerts, children’s activities and other programs as well.

Rathausplatz Christmas Market 2014
The annual Viennese Christmas Market will be in Vienna again in 2014. It is a really popular event before Christmas and thousands of people come every year to enjoy the atmosphere of the market and the Christmas feast.
It is one of the largest tourist attractions and each year more than 3 million people come from all around the world to do their Christmas shopping, drink some hot wine and eat some Austrian specialties at the market. The most famous Christmas Market in Vienna takes place at Vienna Rathausplatz each year since 1975. During the years the market grew itself out to one of the biggest Christmas Markets in Europe and it attracts around 500 000 people from abroad and the number of the visitors are just growing every year. This year the Viennese Christmas Market will be held from the middle of November around when the Advent season will start this year. Visitors at the market can enjoy the best hot wines, cotton candies and the best Austrian food while they look around enjoying the original charm and beauty of the market doing their pre-Christmas shopping.
The Christmas Market will come to Vienna from 15th November until 23rd December, the market will be open daily from 10 in the morning until 9.30 in the evening and on Fridays and Saturdays it will be open until 10 in the evening. 24th December the market will be open until 5 in the afternoon.

Christmas Markets in Vienna 2013
In the capital of Austria, Vienna the Advent markets are like a winter fairy tale. People, eddy, beautiful cakes, gingerbread and presents, what enchant everybody. You will have guaranteed Christmas cheer! There are more than one Christmas markets in Vienna what warmly welcome everybody from the middle of November at different points of the capital. You can choose any of them and you won’t be disappointed in atmosphere and design.
The Austrian capital welcomes the guests who visit Vienna in Christmas period with lots of great programs. We are glad to say that there are two new Christmas markets on the markets’ list in Vienna, so in total you can choose from nine advent markets before, during or after the holiday.
First of all we have to talk about the oldest Christmas market, the Altwiener Cristkindlmarkt, the Vienna Christmas Market, what located at the Feying Square in the center city. They have organized Christmas markets since 1772, so those who want to visit this market, could travel in time. At the market you can buy beautiful glass decorations, homemade products, and there is beautiful advent music from 4 at the afternoon to enhance the atmosphere.
If you don’t want to go far from the Altwiener Cristkindlmarkt, we warmly recommend the Am Hof Christmas market. You just need to walk a little to reach it from the Feying Square. Here you can buy demanding handmade products.
Naturally we can’t skip the Wiener Adventzauber, the Vienna Advent Market at the Rathausplatz. 150 stands welcome visitors with special products, beautiful objects, tasty drink and delicious foods here. You can buy the most beautiful gingerbread hearts here, and it’s 100% you can find the most perfect one for the perfect person. Those who visit this Christmas market, won’t leave it with empty hands, they will find presents for everyone in the family. The Wiener Adventzauber is a special experience for children as well.
When we are looking for a Christmas market in Vienna, we can’t forget the Schönbrunn Imperial Palace’s garden, where there is a wonderful Christmas and cultural market. There are lots of programs for children here too. We can decorate the Christmas tree with the beautiful Christmas decors what we buy here. Don’t forget this place after Christmas either, because it will be the New Year Market.
Besides the Schönbrunn, the Belvedere Palace’s garden also becomes a winter fairy tale.
For the lovers of romance the perfect choice is the Christmas village at the Maria-Theresian-Platz. You probably will find something between the 70 stands’ products. The beautiful environment makes you feel warm in spite of the cold winter weather.
The next Christmas market’s specialty is, this is the 20th birthday of it. This market is the best for children, there are lots of program for them at the Karlsplatz. Naturally you can find the beautiful homemade souvenirs and creative ideas here too.
The three youngest member of the Advent time in Vienna are the three Christmas markets; the one in front of the Big Wheel, the Naschmarkt Market and the one at the Stephansplatz. You can choose any of them; you will have an unforgettable experience!

Those who visit the Kärntner Strasse, can find fantastic stores, however mostly the luxury shops have got places here. Naturally, you can find attractions and great coffee shops here too, but it is true, the Mariahilferstrasse is better friend of your wallet than the Kärntner Strasse.
5. Carriage Ride
This could be the perfect choice for sightseeing for the lovers of old school romanticism. You can jump up a carriage and meet the attractions of Vienna in this classic way. For those who want “hail” a carriage, the best place is the Hofburg Imperial Palace. You can visit around the Austrian president’s residence, the old winter palace, the Hofburg with the carriage. We warmly recommend this opportunity for everybody who isn’t afraid of horses!
