The exhibition ‘Realms of Imagination: Albert Altdorfer and the Expressivity of Art around 1500’ will be shown at the Kunsthistorisches Museum from the middle of March to the middle of June in 2015.
This major exhibition focuses on the most beautiful and striking paintings north of the Alps. The exhibition shows paintings from the 1500 and the most amazing pieces of the Renaissance. At the exhibition visitors will have the chance to get to know Albert Altdorfer and his art works as well as other outstanding painters’ works such as Wolf Huber or Master IP. Albert Altdorfer was a German Renaissance painter and architect who was born in c. 1480 and he died in 1538. Along with Wolf Huber and Lucas Cranach the Elder were the main representatives of the famous Danube School so at the exhibition visitors will have the chance to have a closer look on the pictures of the school as well. The exhibition on the most beautiful Renaissance paintings will be held at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna from 17th March 2015 to 14th June 2014. The opening hours of the museum from June to August: it is open every day from 10 am to 6pm except on Thursday when it is open from 10 am to 9 pm. From September to May the museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm except on Thursday when is it open from 10 am to 9 pm.
